The Gloucester Cumberland Ringette Association—and Ontario communities have united to remember the life of Ringette #20 player Julia Wilson (Jules), who passed away this week.
Jules, 21, was a native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and has played the popular ringette game since 15. “She made the world a better place, and our sport is better because she was a part of it,” GCRA says.
Julia Wilson died unexpectedly, leaving an entire family grieving. According to Julia’s closed friends, she was an organ donor.

Dear community and friends,With heavy hearts and the support of her family, we share the devastating news that our beloved Julia Wilson (Jules) has passed away.
She led a fulfilling and beautiful life, sharing love and kindness everyday. Our precious memories with her will forever live on in our hearts.
Through incredible acts of love, Jules has given the precious gift of life to three people in need of critical organ transplants. Jules’ strength lives on. She is a true hero, and we are immensely proud of her.
Jules touched the lives of everyone who knew her, and we are so grateful for the love she gave us and the memories we shared. Ringette was one of her greatest passions, and she will always hold a special place in our community.
Our game was Jules’ happy place. It is where she created her strongest friendships and most cherished memories. The ringette community has always been family to her, and we take comfort knowing she will always be with us in the rinks. She made the world a better place, and our sport is better because she was a part of it.
Jules’ family and friends continue to lean on the incredible outpouring of love and support provided by so many during this heartbreaking time. Details will be shared as arrangements are made to celebrate her beautiful life.

The family has requested privacy as they navigate through the difficulties of losing a child. No cause of death was confirmed by the parents at this time. Details about a funeral memorial will be released in the future.
